Marketing Director

Position Overview

Reports To: Executive Director 
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Nairobi, Kenya. Remote and Hybrid


The Marketing Director will lead the organization’s marketing and communication efforts to ensure effective promotion and visibility of programs and the organization. This role will be responsible for managing social media platforms, maintaining the website, and developing strategies to enhance the organization’s brand and reach.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create comprehensive marketing strategies to support the organization’s programs and fundraising efforts.
  2. Design and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, to promote events, fundraising efforts, and key initiatives.
  3. Develop engaging, mission-driven content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and others, and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
  4. Foster a supportive online community, and use social media to highlight stories of impact and increase awareness of HG-related challenges.
  5. Implement SEO best practices to drive traffic to the website and improve search engine rankings.
  6. Recruit, onboard, and manage marketing volunteers or assistants to support campaigns. Delegate tasks effectively and provide training where necessary.
  7. Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, social media, and website traffic. Prepare monthly reports to share insights and recommendations with leadership.

Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    2. Proficiency in website management tools and platforms (e.g., WordPress, Sitejet) and SEO best practices. Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) are a plus.
    3. At least 5 years of experience in marketing, including digital marketing and content creation.
    4. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and trends.
    5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    6. Ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable insights.
    7. Ability to work flexible hours, and willingness to travel.
